The summer holidays are almost over, some of our younger members are back to school this week, and a few more start again next Monday. We have a quiet week next week, before everything then starts up again with school groups, Ladies Sailing, SYT and more!

Work Party - Saturday 4th September

This Saturday we are planning one of our working parties! For those of you who are newer to the club this is when we ask members to come along and help us with tidying up the grounds and doing a few jobs to keep the club looking great!

We have a range of jobs we are hoping to get done from cleaning the club house communal areas, to weeding, to levelling some of the more stubborn undergrowth, any and all help is appreciated!

We will start at around 10am, and probably finish around 3pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for anyone who is kind enough to help! We do have a limited amount of gardening tools, but if you are able to bring any of your own tools along to help this is greatly appreciated!

Ladies Sailing

Our next block of Ladies Sailing starts next Thursday, and it's great to see so many members already signed up for our Beginner, Improver and Advanced groups! We still have spaces left on all the groups and it would be great to have a few more join us!

Car Parking - Optimist Berths

You may have noticed that along where the Optimists are stored there is a rail, and then the first bit of the car park is reinforced with black plastic combing. This is to make it easier for wheelchair users and others with limited mobility to move around the site.

Could we please ask all members to avoid parking over this, and leave a gap to allow wheelchairs to move along the railing.

Taster Members

It has been wonderful to welcome so many taster members to the club this year. Many of our Taster Memberships expire in the next few weeks, and we hope you have enjoyed your time with us. If you would like to remain a member once your taster expires please get in touch with the office and we can get this setup for you!

Wednesday Evening Racing

This week sees the start of our Wednesday Evening Twilight Series. These are the last 4 evening races of 2021, and start at 5.45pm! There are no more Wednesday evening pursuit races this year!

Blashford Barrel Funday

Everyone seemed to have great fun on Sunday with the treasure hunt, paddleboard racing and sprint dinghy races. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day run so smoothly, whether it was helming a Firefly, being on the Committee boat, helping with the catering, or helping run the paddleboard races.

You may also have noticed our Race Officer Jonathan used our Committee Boat, providing us with a different set of considerations for starting. Many racers commented how it made the racing more interesting and we hope to see it in use more often!
