New Online Membership Cards

Spinnaker Sailing Club now has online membership cards! These can be viewed by logging into the club website via your smart phone. These have been automatically setup for all members, and will be a great way to confirm to club staff that you hold an active membership if you need help with access codes or to book/hire equipment.

Look out for more uses of these cards as they develop!

Wetsuit/Drysuit Rule

Please remember it is required that anyone sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing or windsurfing wears a wetsuit or drysuit plus a buoyancy aid as a minimum from 1st November to 31st March! This is to ensure the safety of all members. Although the air temperature is now starting to rise the water temperature will take several more weeks to increase and currently remains very chilly (as several of our instructors can confirm)!

Topper Traveller - Sunday 27th March

Not only do the clocks change this Sunday, and it's Mother's Day but it's also our Topper Traveller! We will have up to 40 Toppers out on the lake competing in the first leg of the Rooster Southern Area Traveller Series!

Due to this event there will be no Club Racing on Sunday 27th March, and we ask that no members go afloat during the racing from 10am to approximately 4pm.

If you would like to take part you have until Wednesday lunch time to enter at the link below.

The New Forest Sailability 2022 Season Begins

Our resident Sailability group "New Forest and District Sailability" to give them their full name will soon restart their full activity programme. Over the last couple of months their volunteer team has been busy refurbishing their fleet of boats, and they have their annual volunteer refresher training over the next couple of weeks. Then in early April they will be resuming their activities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays!

The activities of New Forest Sailability are delivered entirely by volunteers and they are always grateful of any assistance in delivering their programme of activities to sailors who may require some additional support to get afloat! For more details about what they do, and how to volunteer if you are interested please visit their website via the link below.

Use of The Club Galley

One of the lasting impacts of Covid-19 upon Spinnaker Sailing Club has been the affect to our catering operation.

We are delighted that we have been able to re-open our front galley to organised groups, with a new system to ensure it can be used in a safe and effective way. To use these facilities groups must pre-book them with the office (please speak to James or Neil), with a sign in and out procedure in place. At this time there are no plans to return to the previous arrangement where any member could use the galley on an ad-hoc basis.
