2023 AGM and Winter Prizegiving
Don't forget our 2023 Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 3rd December! Come and join us to hear from our Main Committee about how 2023 has gone, and the plans for 2024 and beyond, as well as ask them any questions you may have! Following the AGM we will be having our Winter Prizegiving where our Sailing Committee will be presenting prizes for racing since August, and our annual achievement awards. As this year is Spinnaker Sailing Club's 65th birthday everyone who comes to the AGM will get a free drink to help us celebrate this milestone!
Full details can be seen in the member's area of our website at the link below, you can also view the Flag Officer's reports on this page, and our Annual Financial Accounts. Alternatively you can access the AGM Information Page by logging into the club website, going to the "Portal" page, and scrolling down to the bottom.
If you cannot make the AGM there is the option to have you vote cast by a "proxy." Full details of how to do this are in the Notice of AGM.
Club Grounds Access
2 weeks ago the Club's access codes for the car park gates and clubhouse door were changed. If you did not receive the new codes please contact the office.
Can we please also ask that members and users do not park in the driveway approach and "hop the fence" to go sailing. This limits access to the grounds for other members, the emergency services and increases the risk for walkers using the public footpath which runs across our driveway.
New Website Page
We are very proud of our beautiful surroundings, which are a unique habitat for wildlife. We have added a new page to our website with some information about our environment, and how we can help look after it as water users!
You can see the new page here.
Social Sailing
Don't forget Social Sailing runs every Thursday. Come and join us for a sail, kayak, windsurf or paddleboard from 10.30! Club equipment is available to hire, and our club staff are on hand to provide hints and tips.
Club Racing Update
We are just over halfway through our Winter Series, with 4 races left! So far every form of weather has been experienced from sunny light wind drifters, to howling wet races, and this weekend's light, foggy, damp weather! You can see the current results here.
In 2024 we are running a reduced programme of racing in January, February and March, full details of the racing in these months can be viewed in the programme here.
Winter Staffing Hours
Following a couple of questions recently a quick reminder of when the Club is definitely manned by staff and boats are available to hire:
Sunday to Thursday 9am to 4.30pm.
On Fridays and Saturdays there may be staff on site dependent upon any organised activities taking place. Please remember club craft may only be hired when staff are on site.
