More Site Improvements - Dragons Teeth/Car Park Railings

On the 21st and 22nd of Feb, we will have a contractor on site replacing the Dragons teeth throughout the northern carpark and boat park.

This piece of work will enhance the appearance of our club and provide clear separation from vehicular traffic and the boat parks. The work will involve the contractor using a digger with a specialist auger attachment, could we ask all members wishing to visit the club on the 21st and 22nd Feb to be mindful of this and park in the centre of the carpark to allow him room around the edge. In addition to this, can all members please ensure that if their boat is stored along the edge of any of the car park/vehicular access in the northern part of the site these codes are confirmed to the office this week via admin@spinnakerclub.co.uk.

Can we please remind all members that under the Club's boat berthing conditions no craft should be secured so that a physical key is required to move them. Should craft need moving during these works and it is secured without a code having been left with the office we reserve the right to cut the locks to ensure this work can proceed.

New Fireflys!

It has been an aspiration of the Club to purchase a second flight of Fireflys to support our team racing events and coaching programmes for the last two years. We are very excited to share the news that last week we took possession of a flight of 6 boats from Oxford University Yacht Club!

Over the next few weeks these boats will be having an overhaul from the team at Ksail, before they are put into use in April! A big thankyou to Phil, James, Neil and Sophia who spent a long day collecting the boats from Oxford Sailing Club last Thursday.

Social Sailing

As always this week Social Sailing is running from 10.30 on Thursday. As it is February Half Term it would be great to see some of junior members join us. Neil will be on hand to man the safety boat and provide support with club boat hire.

Upcoming National Championships

Sunday saw our Women's Team Racing Team out training ahead of the RYA/BUSA National Championships in just a few weeks (16th/17th March). To support this event and the RYA National Team Racing Championships the following week (23rd/24th March) we are still looking for a few volunteers.

If you are able to volunteer some time to support the event please let us know via the Duty Roster. If you have any questions about these events please speak to Tom Clay (rcs@spinnakerclub.co.uk) or James Oborne (training@spinnakerclub.co.uk).
