Fish and Chips Tomorrow!

Tomorrow (Wednesday 28th September) sees our final Wednesday evening race of 2022 with race 4 of the Twilight Handicap Series!

Fish and Chips must be pre-ordered by 1200 on Wednesday 28th September, and you can book now at the link below. Food will be collected and returned to the Club for 7.15pm

Order your Fish and Chips here!

We hope to see lots of members afloat for this final Wednesday Evening Race!

Volunteering Thursdays!

Our Thursday afternoon volunteers have done a great job making our new smoking/vaping area, just on the left as you enter the first car park! A big thank you to everyone involved in this. We will be continuing Thursday afternoon volunteering as we still have a number of other jobs around, including move the pile of weed! Come and join us from 1pm this Thursday!

On a related note can we please remind all members and users of Spinnaker Sailing Club the only location where you are permitted to smoke/vape is in our new smoking area!

The Universities are Back!

It's been brilliant to see sailors from Southampton and Portsmouth University Sailing Club's getting afloat in the last week, with Bournemouth University's first session tomorrow afternoon!

There are lots of new faces involved in the university sailing this year which is great to see, and a couple of familiar ones even joined us last Wednesday for race 3 of the Twilight Series!

Winter Programme

Don't forget you can now see our Winter Programme on the Club's Calendar on the website, and also read a summary of what we have planned here!

We have also opened up the Duty Roster for volunteers for our winter race programme (a big thankyou to those of you who have already put your name down).

Looking After Your Boat - Winter Tips!

With Autumn well and truly here, and winter not far away, it's the time of year when some members begin to sail less regularly. We strongly advise people begin removing their sails from their boats at this time of year to prevent damage from nesting creatures such as mice! Given our location within a nature reserve there are plenty of furry animals around looking for a nice warm beds! If you are planning on storing your boat upside down for the winter or taking it away for some work to be done and would like some help please do ask one of the Club staff.

With stronger winds now coming through regularly can we please remind all members to ensure their boats are securely tied down when not in use. If you notice a problem with the tie down chains please do let the office know and we will get it fixed!
