Big Island Clearance
If you have been to the club in the last couple of weeks you may have noticed the big island in the middle of the lake looks a little different! Over the last couple of weeks a small team has been clearing the undergrowth and trees!
This work has several benefits, it will improve the wind flow across the lake and reduce some of the shifty lulls, it will improve the island as a bird nesting habitat, and it makes the lake look a lot tidier! More work will be carrying on over the next few weeks ahead of bird nesting season beginning in mid-march!
Membership Renewals
Thank you to everyone who has renewed their membership. If you haven't renewed yet remember our early bird discount ends at 5pm on 31st January!
If you would like to get speak to one of the club staff about your membership and possible options for a different form of membership or how to spread the cost please get in touch! The office is currently manned Monday to Wednesday, and staff may be available in the office at other times as well!
End of the Icicle Series
The rather un-frosty Icicle Series has now ended! It was great to see so many members out on the lake racing at a time of year we do not normally race! You can see the final results at the link below.
Our next race series, The Frostbite, starts on Sunday 13th February!
Team Racing
The next two weekends sees Team Racing events running, with the Wessex Winter Warmer this weekend, followed by the BUSA South Central Qualifiers. Due to the high level of activity on the water there will be no access to the lake on either of these weekends for recreational activity.
Website Logos - Can You Help Us?
We are looking to update some of the imagery on our website. If there is anyone amongst our membership who is good with computer graphics logos, and can help us put a few stock images from the RYA into one image please get in touch with James!
This won't be a big job, and it will help improve our website, a very important part of our first impressions on potential new members!
